Château Citran

Château Citran

Founded in the 13th century, Château Citran is an estate of 410 hectares, 90 of which are planted with vines in the heart of the Médoc. The estate belonged to the Marquis de Donnissan in the 18th century. It was acquired by the Clauzel family in 1832, then by the Mialhe family in 1945, before being sold to the Japanese Touko group in 1986. The estate became part of the TAILLAN group in 1997.

Since then, thanks to hard work and investment, Château Citran has rapidly become one of the Médoc’s elite wines under the management of the Merlaut family, who put their extensive knowledge of wines and terroirs at the service of this exceptional growth.

Sophia Sanchez has ensured the continuity of this desire for excellence as Managing Director of the estate since 2020.

Since 2020, Alice Merlaut has embodied the third generation of Merlauts at Château Citran, running the estate’s wine tourism activities on a daily basis. An extravagant storyteller, she delights young and old alike with her Alice in Peacock Country.
