Verdier was founded in 1927 by Joseph Verdier. It grew from father to son, and by the 1960s had become a wine merchant of national renown.
When, in 1965, the company joined forces with the Taillan group from Bordeaux, supermarkets became its main customers, and export markets continued to grow.
A key player in Loire wines, Joseph Verdier represents over 8 million bottles shipped to more than 30 countries. In its quest for performance, the company strives to be innovative, rigorous and in close collaboration with its partners.
From 1998 onwards, privileged partnerships were created with winemakers from 9 estates in the Loire Valley (from the vineyards of Nantes to the Sancerre region) via the Verdier Quality Charter, which enables a rigorous selection of production terroirs.
Headed by JeanPhilippe LIMITO since 2026, Joseph Verdier is firmly rooted in the Loire region, with two estates: Domaine des Iris since 2008 and Domaine des Landes since 2021 in Tigné, Anjou.
